ABOUT US
It’s that time of year and we all could use a little inspiration for our gift buying lists. There are plenty of good ideas beginning to circulate. We’ve pinned several and have come up with just a few more that our kids (and we) wouldn’t want to be without.
My daughter is super artsy and loves to color and draw. We thus never leave home (even for a short car ride) without her pencil roll and a notebook. You can find lots of options on Etsy; some even come personalized.
We have loads of stickers as they are a sure-fire way to pass the time. Even our little guy is into them. At 18 months, he’s got the whole concept of picking out a sticker and sticking it on something (not always paper, unfortunately…).
The TS Shure Super Stickers are the best because the paper doll stickers have lots of ensembles that aren’t all girly and frilly (e.g., a science lab coat, full scuba outfit, soccer uniform, chef’s ensemble and an artist’s smock) plus loads of accessories (skating helmet, a painter’s canvas, scuba fins, etc.) The farm stickers have barns, grass and fences while the transportation stickers have roads and tracks that kids can sticker together to create some fun scenes.
These tiny containers of Play-Doh are the perfect size for travel. Small and transportable, they come in sets of 10 or 15 so you can break out a few here and there.
I know, I know! But, hear me out on this one. First of all, with their noise canceling function, the Bose QuietComfort headphones really do protect little ears from excessive noise. When flying without noise canceling headphones, the volume has to be turned up really high in order to hear over the roar of the jet engines. Second, these headphones will last years! They are durable and come in a specially designed carrying case.
Ok, so, if you just can’t bring yourself to spring for the Bose headphones, the next best option are the Kidz Gear Headphones. We bought these for our daughter and they have worked out great … when she uses them. My husband does occasionally luck out and get to use his Bose headphones himself. Occasionally.
How many times have you been juggling bags and kids and trying to figure out whose passport is whose? With different covers for each family member, they are easy to tell apart. Plus, kids think it’s great to have their own unique cover. Ours are handmade by my mom but you can find cute options on Etsy.
Kids love looking at maps and figuring out which countries and states they’ve been too. For the international traveler, the Our Travels maps from Our Whole Village come with stickers to mark countries visited (plus, they just went on sale today!). For U.S. domestic travelers, a scratch off map of the U.S.A. is a fun way for kids to track the states they’ve been to.
Happy shopping!
